Up Mt. Lemmon
Tour 3 : Mt. Lemmon
The Forest Snow
Yes, it does snow in the desert- except you have to be nearly 10,000 feet in the air to get to it. This shot shows the Mt. Lemmon area, near the Ski Valley, with a lush layer of that white stuff which the desert rarely sees.
When it snowed in the Tucson-basin below Mt. Lemmon on January 17, 1995 it was when EMOL.og first went online (actually, it began snowing as the first pages were being uploaded! That was a wonderful sight!)

Javelina? No Thanks. Already had one.
Javelina's live at the top of the mountain?? I don't think so.
Here, from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, former-curator Hal Gross (a once popular figure on the local TV scene), shows a group of students a live javelina during a demonstration for one of the publisher's fields trips in the early 1980's.
